Recently, the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, together with the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, carried out a commendation ceremony for advanced organizations and individuals in Beijing on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the league, aiming to further establish typical examples, recognize advanced workers, and promote favorable experiences, so as to better motivate Beijing Youth League Members, Youth League Cadres and Youth League Organizations at all levels to learn from advanced models, work hard and achieve further success. After application and review at each level, the Youth League Committee of CUEB was awarded the Beijing May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee; Zhang Long, a 2019 undergraduate student in the School of Management and Engineering, was awarded the Beijing Outstanding Communist Youth League Member; Han Tianyi, Secretary of the sub branch of Youth League Committee of the School of Foreign Studies, was awarded the Beijing Outstanding Communist Youth League Cadre.

In 2021, under the leadership of the Party Committee and higher-level Youth League organizations of CUEB, the CUEB Youth League Committee fully implemented Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on youth and relevant work, earnestly implemented the plans of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Municipal Committee of the Youth League, and performed the basic duties of leading and cohesion of youth, organizing and mobilizing youth, and contacting and serving youth, comprehensively helped students grow, achieving excellent results in many fields. Therefore, for that to happen, efforts need to be redoubled in the following aspects. First, focus on ideological leadership through education on the Party’s history throughout the whole year of the work. 502 Youth League branches participated in 100% of the activities, achieving full coverage of more than 15,000 youth members. Second, shoulder the responsibility and mission, in the service to ensure that the “Broader Ideological and Political Education” could be developed in major activities. 352 teachers and students as the volunteers served Party centennial celebration, 260 of them formed the CUEB choir, namely “great journey”, and 603 volunteers served at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, and completed all major service and guarantee work. Thirdly, deepen reform and continuously improve the mechanisms and initiatives of the Communist Youth League. We should consolidate the construction of grassroots organizations, build the training system of the School Communist Youth League, and steadily promote the reform of the student union. Fourthly, we concentrate on special channels to help young students grow and become more outstanding in the second class, followed by fruitful art education and sound results in practical competitions. After organizing students to participate in the 11th Challenge Cup Beijing Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest, CUEB once again made a great achievement by taking home the Honorable Prize and the Best Organization Prize. 33 projects won Beijing-level awards. The project “Vocational Skill Training Subsidy Strategy and High-Quality Employment - Empirical Evidence from 13 Provinces” was selected for the national competition and won the first prize at the national level, the best result in its history.

Zhang Long

Zhang Long, a student of Data Science and Big Data Technology (Information Technology) 2 class of 2019 in the School of Management and Engineering, is currently the Deputy Director of the CUEB Youth League Committee and the Deputy Secretary of the sub branch of Youth League Committee. He is an upright disciplinarian, and always sets strict demands on himself as an outstanding member of the Communist Youth League so that he can play a model among his classmates. Being earnest and hardworking in his study, he participates in various subject competitions, and strives to improve his professional knowledge. In terms of his work, he has several jobs and is trusted to assist teachers in organizing and completing major tasks on a daily basis. In social activities, he is keen to devote himself to volunteer service and has performed outstandingly in Beijing 2022. At the same time, he has been awarded the titles of Outstanding Youth League Cadre and Social Work Scholarship at the university level many times.

Han Tianyi

Han Tianyi, the Secretary of the sub branch of the Youth League Committee of the School of Foreign Studies, is courageous and proactive, treating every student with dedication and assistance, which makes her very popular among students. In addition, she is widely praised for her rigorous and serious work attitude. She has been honored as an excellent counselor, advanced employment worker, and dedicated worker many times during her tenure. She has led the “Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of New China”, and “Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China”, and supported the volunteer service of nucleic acid testing in the Xicheng District. During the Beijing 2022, Han Tianyi participated in the service and guarantee work of the Beijing Olympic Village/ Beijing Paralympic Village and completed the coordination work of the pre-game venue operation test team, the management of volunteers in the games square area and the pandemic prevention and control team during the games with excellent performance, which won her a special gift and a call from the International Olympic Committee.

In the future, CUEB Youth League Committee will be continuously committed to the Youth League progress along with the Party development, fully focusing on improving its leadership, organization, service and contribution guided by the highest standard.
