“Please Rest Assured, We’re Ready for Epidemic Prevention”: CUEB Holds Symposium for Student Party Members
On May 23, Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee held a symposium, entitled “Please rest assured, we’re ready for epidemic prevention” for student party members through the Tencent video meeting to better implement epidemic response policies, orderly roll out COVID-19 prevention and control in CUEB, as well as to encourage all student party members to play their leading role. Chen Xuan, the counselor from Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, hosted the meeting.
Wang Jinbao, Minister of Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, introduced the guidelines of Beijing conferences on epidemic prevention. He remarked that we need to be fully aware of the political nature, sensitivity, seriousness and paramount importance of Beijing epidemic prevention, follow discipline and requirements of prevention, and fulfil main responsibilities. We need to strengthen the role of primary departments of the Party and the Youth League, as well as student organizations, to provide educational guidance and psychological counseling for students, and to care about their reasonable demands. Wang Jinbao issued an initiative to all student party members. First, improve our political consciousness. We should give more support to epidemic prevention, fully understand and implement the “dynamic zero-COVID policy”, as well as cooperate with local governments and our university in epidemic prevention. Second, take actions. We, as youth of the era, should actively and consciously get ready for epidemic prevention to make the Party rest assured. Third, study hard. We should actively adapt to the current online learning environment in a self-regulated and self-disciplined way and try hard for a better self by changing challenges into opportunities. Fourth, help each other. With more respect and understanding for each other, we should learn from “ordinary people” who sacrifice their interests without hesitation, and become “heroes in harm’s way”, braving the hardships in the fight against the pandemic.
Sun Le, the counselor from School of Labor Economics, Wang Yiou, the counselor from School of Law, Chen Xiao, the counselor from School of Economics, and Yang Kaiyu, the representative of student party members from School of Public Finance and Taxation, shared their reflections after learning “An Open Letter to All Teachers, Students and Staff” and “An Open Letter to Party Organizations at All Levels and All Communist Party Members in CUEB”. They said they would improve their political consciousness, earnestly implement prevention and control policies in Beijing and CUEB, and play leading roles as party members to ensure the campus safety.
Deputy Secretaries of the Party organizations in all secondary schools, all counselors and student party members attended the meeting.
