On the evening of May 26, CUEB successfully held the final of the 14th Mock Interview Contest online, in a bid to fully implement the decision and plan of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on “ensuring stable employment”, to coordinate with China’s 2022 Graduates Employment Promotion Week initiated by the Ministry of Education and to enrich the “100-day Sprint” series of special activities in the university. Wang Jinbao, Minister of Student Affairs Department of CUEB Party Committee, delivered an address for the contest, while Gao Yuxin and Li Yuxuan, students of CUEB Career Development Association, presided over the competition.

Wang Jinbao expressed his gratitude to the guests, expecting that the recruitment of enterprises in CUEB will be strengthened, posts be expanded, and more adequate practice and employment resources be available to our students in future school-enterprise cooperation. The Student Affairs Department of CUEB Party Committee will continue to bridge schools and enterprises and provide more marketable professionals. He encouraged students to participate in the contest as a way to strengthen self-discipline with definite life goals during the pandemic, to be prudent and self-sufficient for a better self.

Five senior managers from CNOOC, Sinochem Capital, Bank of China, Ogilvy and Beijing Hualian Group served as judges for the final round, guiding students in their job hunting online. In addition, 17 companies provided more than 100 high-quality internship positions, covering the mainstream employment fields such as consulting, securities and real estate.

Overcoming the adverse effects brought by the pandemic, the contestants simulated the current common interview methods in all aspects during the contest, restoring the real scenes in job interviews to the greatest extent. In the nearly 150-minute contest, the contestants’ great performance won them great favor and affirmation from the judges and enterprises on site, which was a successful online demonstration for employer and employee selection.

Ji Yanyan, Deputy Minister of Student Affairs Department of CUEB Party Committee, all teachers of the Career Guidance Center and more than 650 students participated in the online activity. With a popularity value of more than 3,000, the platform received more than 900 comments and interactions from the student viewers who shared their admiration for this job interview.
