On July 10, the fifth Physical Education Teacher Basic Skills Competition of capital universities and colleges, hosted by Beijing Municipal Education Commission and organized by Federation of University Sports of Beijing (FUSB) and the Sport Department of Beijing Jiaotong University, came to a close in Beijing Jiaotong University. Gai Liangzi from CUEB won the second prize with an outstanding performance.

This competition was open to over 90 universities and colleges in the capital which were divided into 9 groups to compete during the trials respectively. In the end, 27 PE teachers from 27 universities and colleges came to the finals. Through internal selection and recommendation, Gai stood out from the 7th group of FUSB. In the light of instructional design and on-the-spot teaching demonstration, Gai, with her aerobics talents, completed an extraordinary teaching performance in explaining theories, demonstrating skills, and fostering ideology and politics education. Her standardized and clear demonstration has shown amazing vibrancy and great passion of teachers in CUEB.

As to this competition, the leading group of Sports Department put it high on the agenda, and actively organized the intramural preliminary contest. The Teaching Guidance Committee assisted Gai in optimizing teaching plan, organized several simulation exercises and put forward some suggestions. Gai had also made adequate preparations for this competition with tireless efforts. Going forward, we will strive to accumulate experience, enhance learning, and get inspiration from teaching activities. We will be committed to fulfilling our mission to foster virtue through education and making greater contributions to CUEB.
