They were born and grew up together; they developed intimacy with each other as they were still hand in hand when facing the crossroads of life: the college entrance examination. Together, they were admitted to CUEB! Today, let’s feel and appreciate the wonderful fate of these twin sisters. 

Xu Qiang, Xu Wei: Work hard to meet at the same top

The twins, Xu Qinag and Xu Wei, are freshmen of Grade 2022 in CUEB. Xu Qiang, the elder sister, was admitted to the School of Public Finance and Taxation with a score of 562 majoring in finance and taxation, and Xu Wei, the younger sister, to the School of Economics with a score of 556 majoring in commercial economics. 

Since primary school, Xu Qiang and Xu Wei studied at the same school. Later, they were enrolled into different high schools where they strove for their respective goals. Rarely as Xu Qiang and Xu Wei met, the twins were deeply concerned about each other. Xu Wei recalled that once in the first mock examination of senior three, Xu Qiang failed. Then she invited Qiang to dine out and analyzed the causes for her poor performance. Wei encouraged Qiang that it was possibly caused by the score weighting, and she could achieve better results next time. Then, they agreed that in the following days, they would work hard to meet at the same top. “In fact, it never occurred to me that we could be admitted by the same university. But now, our dormitories are only a dozen meters apart. In CUEB, although both of us still have our own life, we are ready to help each other when in need.” said Xu Wei. 

Facing the new college life, the twins have their own plans. Xu Qiang has a strong interest in finance and taxation, hoping to make further research in this field. In addition, she also participated in the EDA (Entrepreneurship and Development Association) Club and Table Tennis Club. While Xu Wei serves as the league branch secretary in her class. They had an agreement that they shall work hard to learn professional knowledge, improve their skills, broaden their horizons, and continue to bring their best performance for future goals. 

Sun Yahan, Sun Yuhan: Study together for better progress

At the registration site for freshmen of Grade of 2022, the twin sisters, Sun Yahan and Sun Yuhan, are particularly eye-catching with the same hair style, the same dress and similar appearance. 

The two sisters encouraged each other for shared progress in their growth. Together, they learned piano in primary school and practiced fencing in middle school. When in high school, they struggled for a better result. “To enter the ideal university together” is the common wish for them and their families. After the college entrance examination, the twins both chose to apply for CUEB. Sun Yahan, the elder sister, was admitted to the School of Public Finance and Taxation majoring in finance and taxation, while Sun Yuhan, the younger sister to the School of Business Administration majoring in business administration. 

Sun Yahan said, “I have always been interested in finance and taxation. Finance is the foundation and an important pillar of national governance. Taxation promotes development and guarantees people’s livelihood, and plays an important role in maintaining the stability and development of the national economy.” She is determined to contribute what she has learned to the country’s fiscal and tax development. Sun Yuhan also has her own goals as a student majoring in business administration. In the future professional study, she will make full use of the platform and resources of the school and lay a solid professional foundation. Sun Yuhan is also determined to be an active player in various activities, in a bid to solve practical problems in daily life. 

For the future college life, the two sisters hope to take part in various activities and make more friends in their spare time, read books to broaden their knowledge, and enrich their experience to better adapt to the society after graduation. On top of that, Sun Yahan and Sun Yuhan also want to spend a meaningful college life in CUEB, writing the youth song in the new era with the youth power and creativity. 

Jin Kaige, Jin Kaixuan: Glorious return from Beijing 2022

In 2020, the twins, Jin Kaige and Jin Kaixuan were admitted to CUEB together. Jin Kaige, the elder sister, is a student from the School of Public Finance and Taxation majoring in taxation, and Jin Kaixuan, the younger sister, a student from the School of Urban Economics and Public Administration majoring in urban administration. 

They almost stayed together since they studied in the same class in primary school and middle school, and in different classes in the same high school. “Our grades were almost the same in high school, and we are both interested in economics and management, so we actually thought it would be great if we could go to the same university. But we didn’t image that it would come true one day.” said Jin Kaixuan. 

The two sisters, who were still in middle school years, decided to become volunteers for Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 as a major event taking place on July 31, 2015: Beijing had successfully bid for the Winter Olympics. After they were enrolled in CUEB, a volunteer recruitment notice was issued, and they registered immediately. With demanding interviews and selections, they finally realized their dream and became volunteers in Beijing 2022.

At the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Jin Kaige performed her duty on interaction-volunteer position at the stands of National Stadium. She welcomed the athletes from all over the world with the broad mind and great charm. Sixteen days later, Jin Kaixuan, as a voluntary flag-bearer in the athletes’ march-in ceremony in the closing ceremony, made athletes going back home with joys. The two “burning snowflakes” have warmed the cold winter and delivered the enthusiasm of Beijing 2022. 

Both Jin Kaixuan and Jin Kaige made their contributions to the amazing opening ceremony and the perfect closing ceremony of Beijing 2022 respectively. “It is a great honor for us to attend this international event, and to witness the growing strength and prosperity of our country. The days of becoming a volunteer were unforgettable.” They also hope that students can actively and widely participate in all kinds of voluntary services, and strengthen their own sense of responsibility, mission and honor. As the youth of the new era, they believed that we should fulfill the commitment to building a strong country. 

With similar appearance, the twins will continue to forge ahead together for a bright future. Looking ahead, the twins are expected to treasure every moment and pursue progress in their life journey.
