The Capital University Athletics, as an annual sports event for college students in Beijing, and the largest and highest-level provincial athletics in China, gathered “star athletes” in colleges and universities. It’s of great significance to develop physical education and explore its spillover effect, implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and nurture a new generation of capable young people with moral grounding, intellectual ability, physical vigor, aesthetic sensibility and work skills for the socialist cause.

Over the past 60 years, the meeting, with profound historical and cultural deposits and sports spirit, has seen the vigorous development of the capital universities along with the growth of higher education in new China.

At the same time, he ran 11.59 seconds in the 100-meter program the day before, and finally ranked seventh. It was worth mentioning that Liu Zhijiong from School of Statistics ran 11.70 seconds in the 100-meter preliminary race, which reached the standard of second-class athletes and ranked first in the group, but failed to enter the final. It reflected the good performance of these athletes.

The decathlon competition required athletes to complete 10 sports in 2 days, which was a double test of physical fitness and willpower. Ding Yipeng from College of Urban Economics and Public Administration stood the test and won the bronze medal with 3871 points, 1 point behind the silver medalist. It is expected that Ding Yipeng, who has devoted himself to polishing his skills, can achieve better results in the future!

Zhao Xingkai, a freshman from the School of Finance, ran 52.98 seconds in the preliminaries, broke the personal best performance and entered the final, with the rank of top 4.

During the women's 400-meter hurdles program, Dong Qiao from the School of Statistics and Chen Qi from the College of Urban Economics and Public Administration ranked fifth and eighth respectively, which was a gratifying achievement for the first time to participate in this competition. It is expected that they will get better results in the future.

In Level-B Competition, there are five groups of women's 100 meters race. Wang Qingyun from International School of Economic Management entered the final as the top 6, who still played steadily under unfavorable conditions, and finally ranked seventh.

In the group sports, CUEB has ranked seventh in the women's 4x400 meters relay through co-efforts. From taking the baton to handing over the baton, they fought for the honor of our university, leaving a deep impression on us.

The track and field team also won the PE Morality Award, which was the full affirmation of the sports ethics and sports spirit of our team by the organizing committee. It's a team of cultured members striving for greater success with solidarity. It has always taken training and competition seriously, respected opponents, and gave full play to the sportsmanship.

Given the hard work of two coaches, Gao Yihan and Yuan Rongkai, our team has attained remarkable gains today. Although the track and field team trains at 4:30 every day, the coaches would make training plans for the players in advance and arrive early to wait for them in the corridor. What’s more, the coaches did everything to help the players improve their performance in training, such as carefully correcting their mistakes. Therefore, here we want to thank the coaches for their cultivation and dedication.

The 61th Capital University Athletics has come to a successful conclusion. In this competition, our athletes met strong opponents with great courage, and strived tenaciously for good performance to win honor for our school. It is expected that the players would make further success under the guidance of the coaches.
