CUEB Party Committee Theory Learning Center Organizes Study
On the afternoon of June 6, CUEB Party Committee Theory Learning Center organized a study session to discuss the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 5th collective study of the Political Bureau of the 20th CPC Central Committee, his visit to Beijing YuYing School, and the symposium on cultural inheritance and development. Wang Wenju, Secretary of the Party Committee, presided over the meeting.
Wang Wenju stressed the importance of learning and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech. He emphasized that it is a major political task and an important political responsibility of CUEB, both for the current and future period. Xi's speech on building a strong educational system and the statement in the 20th CPC National Congress of "invigorating China through science and education and developing a strong workforce for the modernization drive" have consistently emphasized the significance of building a strong educational system, making a series of important judgments and indicating the direction to the construction of a strong educational system. These speeches represent a new development in General Secretary Xi Jinping's thoughts on education. Moreover, Xi's important speech at the symposium on cultural inheritance and development provided fundamental guidelines for further promoting cultural prosperity, building a leading country in culture and developing a modern Chinese civilization at a new starting point. It is highly political, ideological, strategic, and instructive. Therefore, we should effectively implement the relevant requirements of the Beijing education system in studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches. We should enhance the sense of political responsibility and historical mission to run good education in the capital, further deepen CUEB's educational reform and development, and continuously improve our support and contribution to the development of the capital in the new era. The construction of a modern Chinese civilization proposed by Xi is a significant undertaking. Relevant departments and schools should leverage their disciplinary and professional strengths, conduct joint research and interpretation to continuously deepen their understanding of the laws governing cultural development, and produce high-quality research results in support of building a socialist cultural nation. These efforts will contribute to the construction of the national cultural center in the capital.
In the keynote speech, Wu Weixing said that “When education is prosperous, the country is prosperous; when education is strong, the country is strong.” This means that building a strong educational system is of great significance. We need to comprehensively and deeply understand the content of the conference on learning and implementing the spirit of Xi's important speech throughout the Beijing education system. In the practice of “promoting the development of education in the capital in the new era with the best standard, and making Beijing's contribution to building a strong educational system,” we should contribute our wisdom and strength in the following aspects:

Second, uphold high-quality development.
Third, embrace an innovation-oriented approach.
Fourth, maintain the open strategy.
Fifth, strengthen the construction of the teaching staff.
Sixth, emphasize scientific governance.
We should deepen the reform of concepts, systems, institutions, content, methods, and governance in CUEB, and promote the formation of a positive atmosphere where everyone strives to progress and work hard.
Xu Fang mentioned that General Secretary Xi's important speech at the symposium on cultural inheritance and development expressed the need to “shoulder the new cultural mission and make efforts to develop a modern Chinese civilization”, showcasing the image and spirit of China. In terms of the actual situation in CUEB, it specifically means providing excellent services for the construction of the national cultural center in the capital. As one of the first 16 universities involved, we need to take the participation in the “Colorful Beijing, Youth Blooming” as an opportunity, jointly initiated by the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and the Education Working Committee at the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, to realize the two-way interaction and mutual empowerment between Beijing’s high-quality cultural resources and school’s personnel education, thus implementing cultural education in a tangible manner.
Wang Wenju proposed in his concluding speech that, on the one hand, we should ensure thorough learning and effective dissemination. Party organizations and units at all levels of CUEB should promote a learning frenzy through various channels, such as the Party Committee's theoretical study center, Party branch study sessions, and faculty theoretical studies to get all teachers and students involved. On the other hand, we should ensure practical implementation and tangible results. By integrating the development of the capital in the new era, the development of the school's undertakings, and our own job responsibilities, we can deepen the study, understanding and implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches. This requires genuinely incorporating our thoughts and work into the process, constantly pushing for new achievements in our work and progress in our undertakings.
