On the morning of June 16, CUEB held survey symposium for representatives of 2023 graduates. President Wu Weixing attended the symposium and communicated with the representatives. The symposium was presided over by Wang Jinbao, Minister of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee and head of the college student affairs office at CUEB.

Student representatives shared their growing stories and suggestions for the school. Then President Wu delivered a speech. Wu noted he felt much touched to see the vigorous spirits and hear the sincerest feelings of students. CUEB wouldn’t have made so much development without every CUEBer, and vice versa. Wu also remarked we would build a better CUEB by collaborating with relevant departments and solve problems that concern students most. President Wu encouraged students to forge ahead with fortitude in their future study and work to put forward suggestions and plans. On behalf of CUEB, he sent sincere wishes and high expectations, wishing them a happy graduation and a prosperous future.

At the symposium, 20 students shared their concerns about the development of Alma Mater in turn, focusing on qualified personnel cultivation, further education and employment, and basic security. From improving training plans for students, Tang Yi, an undergraduate student from the College of Business Administration, said that the university could optimize curricula, strengthen the university-enterprise cooperation, develop new education and training forms and put more opportunities for internship and practice, to help students to improve their skills in practice. From the construction of campus culture, Sang Yufei, an undergraduate student from the School of Economics, hoped that the university could organize more various recreational activities, keeping students’ strong physical and psychological bodies and strengthening their cohesion. From deepening academic research, Li Danfeng, a graduate from the School of Accounting, hoped that the university could provide more access to special databases, enhance access to high-quality resources and build platforms for academic exchanges and training, providing more data support and resource convenience for academic study. From optimizing infrastructure equipment, Han Guosheng, an undergraduate student from the School of Labor Economics, suggested that the university could put more equipment like self-service vending machine in teaching buildings, providing enough supplies for students. From guarantee and service, Wang Baolin, a graduate from the School of Finance, proposed that the stationary shop, table tennis & badminton hall, as well as other places should have definite opening time and longer service time, and extend the opening hours of self-study rooms to meet students’ need. Other students also talked about their concerns and growing stories to provide better suggestions.

With close listening and careful recording, people in charge of relevant functional departments responded to students’ suggestions. For problems that have been solved, persons in charge presented the process and work schedule. For new problems, they will strengthen research and plan to ensure operational and cost-effective solutions. The university will show solutions to the students, ensure practical results for teachers and students.

This symposium was attended by related persons from Office of Party and Governance Affairs, Student Affairs Department of the Party committee, Academic Affairs Office, the Party Committee Graduate Affairs Department and Security Department.
