227 Graduates Appointed as 2023 Alumni Liaisons
This year, 227 graduates were appointed as 2023 alumni liaisons, including 155 undergraduates and 72 postgraduates, for better playing their role as a bridge to strengthen communication between CUEB and alumni.
On the afternoon of June 6, 2023 Alumni Liaison Appointment Ceremony, themed “Serving the Alumni to the Fullest of Youth”, was held at the academic hall in Boxue Building. Vice President Yin Zhichao, member of the Party Standing Committee and Vice President of the Standing Council in the Alumni Association (AA), attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. The participants are as follows: Wang Jinbao, Minister of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, head of the college student affairs office at CUEB and Vice President of the Alumni Association, Xu Yanhong, Deputy Director of the Office of Cooperation Affairs (in charge of work) and Vice President of the Alumni Association, heads in charge of the Alumni Association of each school, 2023 alumni liaisons, all staff of AA and student volunteers. Shao Lili, Vice Director of Office of Cooperation Affairs and Secretary-General of AA, presided over the ceremony.
During his speech, Yin Zhichao conveyed congratulations to all graduates of Class 2023, and expressed great gratitude to those as alumni liaisons. In addition, he pointed out that alumni are precious treasure of CUEB. Besides, it was CUEBers’ diligence and devotion that contributed to CUEB’s fine tradition and spirit. Since the founding of the CUEB, alumni in all walks of life have contributed their wisdom and talents to the country and society, thus have won a good social reputation for CUEB. He stressed that alumni liaisons serve graduates with responsibility and glory. Therefore, he put forward three expectations for them: First, be promoters in CUEB’s high-quality development with gratitude and passion; Second, be character-builders in CUEB’s social reputation construction with initiative and willingness to share information; Third, be carriers of CUEB’s camel spirit with high aspirations and down-to-earth attitude.
Participating guests and leaders present appointment letters and make tailored alumni seals to all alumni liaisons.
Pan Zhuowen, a 2019 Business English major undergraduate of School of Foreign Studies, gave a speech as a 2023 alumni liaison. After reviewing the wonderful moments of four-year life in CUEB, Pan expressed that he would fulfill his duties and missions, and appealed alumni liaisons to bear the spirit of the school motto in minds. Given that alumni liaison was viewed as the link of communication, their goals were to focus on the cohesion of alumni strength and serve the development of CUEB.
Then, Su Zhenyu, a graduate of Class of 1992 in CUEB majoring in commercial economics, as Director of the AA and Chairman of Beijing ORI-STAR Wanyou Science & Technology Co., Ltd, delivered a speech. He reviewed his education and entrepreneurial journey, and then paid tribute to CUEB’s earnest cultivation. He also shared some suggestions for ideal and long-term planning. He said that he would participate in the work of AA with positive attitude, and contribute to the development of students and school undertakings. Moreover, he encouraged students to integrate their ideals with the times to commitment themselves to Alma Mater.
After introducing the AA and clarifying the responsibility of alumni liaison, Xu Yanhong encouraged them to engage in the AA work with responsibility and practice CUEB spirits. As a link between alumni and CUEB, they are supposed to advance the common development.
At the end of the ceremony, Shao Lili introduced the special activity, “‘Time Delivery’: A letter for oneself in 10 years later”. After the activity, each school held alumni symposium respectively.
