Preparations Underway for CUEB 70th Anniversary Events

On September 24, the third meeting of the preparatory work team for the 70th anniversary of CUEB was held in Conference Room 407 of Bona Building. Attendees were Xu Fang, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee, and Yin Zhichao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CUEB Party Committee and Vice President. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Tong, Director of the Party and Governance Office Affairs and Director of the Inspection Office of the Party Committee.

Discussions at the meeting centered on key documents, including the Announcement No. 1 on CUEB’s 70th Anniversary Events and the Draft Plan for CUEB’s 70th Anniversary Events . Member units provided updates on recent progress and exchanged views on key tasks for the upcoming phase.

Xu Fang emphasized leveraging the 70th anniversary to systematically showcase the university’s achievements and development vision, thereby enhancing its profile and societal impact. She called for reinforced top-level design and coordinated efforts to expedite the finalization of crucial documents and the establishment of a visual identity system. She also called for high-quality organization of major conferences, forums, and performances, ensuring all anniversary activities are aligned with national strategies, Beijing’s development in the new era, and CUEB’s high-quality growth. Steady progress is also essential in key areas like cultural project development, consolidating achievements, and resource mobilization. She stressed the importance of inter-departmental collaboration and clear accountability to ensure efficient and effective preparations.

Yin Zhichao noted that the 70th founding anniversary marks a significant milestone, serving as a crucial juncture to build consensus, pool resources, and drive high-quality development. He urged all units to enhance their sense of responsibility and urgency, develop clear timelines and plans, and proceed with work systematically and proactively. He highlighted the importance of systematically reviewing the university’s history and cultural heritage, enhancing the integration and display of academic achievements, and ensuring the anniversary activities are deeply integrated with the university’s core work, fostering “university-wide effort”. He also emphasized broadly mobilizing alumni, expanding social resources, and highlighting the university's distinctive characteristics and development vision. These measures, he stated, are essential for hosting high-standard, impactful events that enhance disciplinary influence and advance the “Double First-Class” initiative.

The meeting further clarified the task allocation and timeline for the next stage. All units were instructed to refine implementation plans, strengthen coordination, and ensure the 70th anniversary events are carried out in a well-organized, vibrant, and impactful manner, thereby galvanizing greater support for the university’s continued development.

Heads from various units attended the meeting, including the Office of Party and Governance Affairs, the Office of

Examination and Investigation, the Publicity Department (News Center), the Student Affairs Department, the Armed Force Department, the Student Affairs Department, the Scientific Research Department, the Cooperation and Liaison Department, the Labor Union, the Youth League Committee, the Archive Office and the School History Museum.
