CUEB Holds Meeting on Employment in 2024
On the morning of June 13, CUEB held a significant meeting focused on high-quality employment in 2024. The meeting aimed to implement the directives from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Fourteenth Collective Study of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee. President Wu Weixing, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Vice President Li Kunpeng, member of the Standing Committee of the CUEB Party Committee, presided over the meeting.
President Wu highlighted the notable achievements in the employment of the 2024 graduates and expressed gratitude for all the staff involved. He pointed out that employment rate is a crucial indicator for assessing a school’s educational quality. Wu stressed the need for enhanced political consciousness and understanding of the national importance of employment. He outlined three main requirements for advancing employment in 2024:
First, prioritize employment: Each college head should make deployments and implement targeted policies to fully mobilize all available resources.
Second, strengthen training: All colleges should optimize their disciplines, strengthen employment-oriented personnel training, and promote the integration of industry and education.
Third, offer guidance: Particular attention should be given to graduates struggling to find jobs and those still seeking employment. Meanwhile, ensuring the accuracy of employment data is also crucial.
Wu stressed the urgency and challenges of the 2024 employment objectives, urging all colleges to assume their responsibilities, mobilize multiple resources, innovate methods to ensure high-quality employment in 2024.
Vice President Li Kunpeng stressed the need for colleges to adhere to the school’s work requirements, conduct in-depth research, and take targeted measures to support employment efforts during this critical period.
Feng Bo, Minister of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee and head of the Office of Student Affairs of CUEB, provided a detailed update on the progress of 2024 employment. Exchanges on employment were conducted among the College of Urban Economics and Public Administration, the College of Business Administration, the Collegeof Public Finance and Taxation, and Overseas Chinese College.
Attendees included members from the Office of Party and Governance Affairs, the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, the Academic Affairs Office, the Party Committee Graduate Affairs Department, and Deans, Secretaries, and Deputy Secretaries of the Party organizations in all secondary schools and counselors in charge of employment work.
