Sun Rongzuo from the School of Culture and Communication skillfully integrated the concept of well-rounded education (which means the education work should emphasize fostering the students’ all-round moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic grounding with a hard-working spirit) into the design of the lobbies on the first to the fourth floors of the Shensi Building, transforming these lobbies into spaces for ideological and political education as well as public interaction, providing a platform for students’ well-rounded growth and character shaping.

Qu Ranning from the School of Labor Economics redesigned the first-floor lobby of the Overseas Chinese College with the theme “Corridor of Rediscovered Delights”, turning it into a shared space filled with humanistic warmth and aesthetic practicality.

Ding Jiatong from the School of Culture and Communication revamped the staff lounge in the Boxue Building with the theme “Leisurely Delight and Engaging Conversation”, transforming it into a cozy nook equipped with adjustable seating, storage solutions, and comfortable sofas, and a dynamic environment with a tea station, a bar, and green plants for faculty relaxation and interaction.

Song Yuxuan from the College of Business Administration envisioned the Camo Café on the second floor of the Boxue Building with the theme of “Traces: In Search of the Vanishing ‘Sense of Ease’”. The design features a rustic log aesthetic, catering to the diverse learning, working, and socializing among faculty and students.

Wang Yikai’s team from the Business School crafted a harmonious shared space for the Hongmiao Campus, featuring a wisteria pergola and leisure bar, guided by the philosophy of “Simplicity, Efficiency, Safety, and Vibrancy”.

Zhou Jiahui from the School of Culture and Communication gave the revolving staircase in the Mingbian Building a new design concept with “Chasing Dreams and Camel Spirit,” aiming to create unique campus memories for each CUEBer.

This activity reflects the school leadership’s student-centered educational philosophy. Tian emphasized that artistic creation should draw inspiration from life, and be rooted in Chinese culture. After the ceremony, Tian Zhongli met with Wu Weixing, Deputy Secretary of the CUEB Party Committee and President, discussed personnel training, research, and contributions to Beijing’s economic development. They reached a consensus on further strengthening communication and exchange, as well as promoting the sharing of educational resources.

The “Campus Makeover” design competition is a key initiative aimed at fostering campus cultural development, promoting a spirit of innovation, and honing practical skills among students. CUEB plans to continue such events to elevate students’ core competencies in cultural inheritance, aesthetic sensibility, artistic performance, and creative engagement. This initiative will not only diversify the spiritual and cultural life, but also promote aesthetic education that encourages the discovery, appreciation, and creation of beauty through labor. By doing so, the school will offer more platforms for students to develop and showcase their abilities, contributing to a prosperous future for the campus and making it a vibrant source of knowledge and creativity.

This ceremony was jointly organized by the Property Management Department, the Party Committee Publicity Department, the Office of Student Affairs, the CUEB Youth League Committee, and the School of Culture and Communication. Attendees included heads of the relevant departments, instructors, award recipients, and representatives of the faculty and students.
