President Wu Weixing Meets Lancaster University Leipzig Delegation

On the afternoon of March 12, President Wu Weixing, CUEB Deputy Party Secretary, met with Constantin Blome, the Academic Dean of the Lancaster University Leipzig, in the Bona Building. The two sides had in-depth and friendly discussions on expanding student exchanges, teacher visits, and research cooperation.

Wu Weixing greeted Constantin Blome and his delegation, expressing gratitude for his wonderful lecture to the faculty and students. Wu mentioned that both schools have their specialties and share many common research areas. He expressed the expectation that the two schools would strengthen international cooperation to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership that would involve high-level, all-round, and multi-level cooperation.


Professor Chen Yanbin, member of the Standing Committee of the CUEB Party Committee and Vice President, greeted Constantin Blome and reviewed the current cooperation. He stated that a certain cooperative foundation has been established through inter-school visits and student exchanges, and expressed the desire to deepen understanding, explore new cooperation opportunities, and continue to deepen cooperation in academia and research.


Constantin Blome expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception. He briefly introduced Lancaster University Leipzig, exchanged views on topics such as the future development of the school and international cooperation, and expressed the hope to enhance cooperation.


Liu Xuexin, Dean of the College of Business Administration, had in-depth discussions with Constantin Blome on launching student exchange programs, teachers’ academic and research collaboration. They would steadily advance joint personnel cultivation and teacher research cooperation in the subsequent exchanges.


Attendees included Wei Huaying, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Sha Yezhou, the Assistant of the Director, Jia Fu, professor of College of Business Administration, Sun Zhongjuan, Deputy Dean of College of Business Administration, and Lu Wenting, Director of the Department of Electronic Commerce and Supply Chain Management.

Lancaster University Leipzig is a branch campus established by Lancaster University in Leipzig, a transportation hub in Germany, making it the only British university to have a branch campus in Germany. It comprises students from Germany, the EU, and other countries. It offers courses with the same standard and teaching quality as the main campus in the UK, and graduates receive Lancaster University degrees directly upon completion. The campus provides bachelor’s and master’s direct-entry programs, as well as preparatory courses programs, all of which have been approved by the Saxon State Ministry for Higher Education, Research, and the Arts.
