President Wu Weixing Meets with the Delegation from University of Manchester

On the afternoon of December 6, Wu Weixing, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee and President, met with Wu Xiangjie, Director of Asian Programs at the Alliance Manchester Business School and Director of the UK-China Infrastructure Academy, and his delegation at Boyuan Building. Both sides had in-depth exchanges in promoting cooperation between the two universities.

Wu Weixing extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the Alliance Manchester Business School (Alliance MBS). He introduced CUEB’s significant achievements in discipline construction, personnel cultivation and international education. He mentioned that CUEB and the University of Manchester shared a solid cooperative foundation in many research fields, and expected that the two sides could deepen cooperation in key disciplines such as economics and management. He proposed that the two sides should strengthen student and faculty exchanges and academic cooperation, building a comprehensive, diverse and enduring partnership.

Wu Xiangjie expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and introduced the latest development of the Alliance MBS in research innovation and international cooperation. He said that the Alliance MBS was looking forward to expanding cooperation with CUEB to jointly cultivate high-quality professionals with global vision and intercultural communication competence.

The Alliance MBS delegation also carried out an in-depth exchange with other CUEB institutions, including the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office, the School of Economics and the College of Business Administration. The two sides have reached an initial cooperation intention in student and faculty exchanges and research cooperation.

After the meeting, the Alliance MBS visited CUEB’s History Museum, showing their appreciation for the history and achievements of CUEB.

This meeting has strengthened the bond between the two universities, laying a solid foundation for their future cooperation. Adhering to the principle of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, CUEB will continue to engage in exchanges and cooperation with universities worldwide to advance the construction of world-class universities.

Presented at the meeting were Li Beizhu, Project Manager of Alliance MBS in China; An Guojun, Executive Researcher at the Institute of Finance and Banking, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Liu Wenchuan, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office; Du Wencui, Dean of the School of Economics and Wang Kai, Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration.
