CUEB Establishes New Business Laboratory
To prepare for the undergraduate education evaluation and enhance the digital and intelligent infrastructure of CUEB’s laboratory, the Network Information Center’s Economics and Management Laboratory Division initiated the “2024 CUEB Special Laboratory Construction Project: Equipment Purchase for the New Business Smart Learning Center”. This project aims to establish a Shared Financial Cloud Laboratory for New Business.
The laboratory is to integrate the teaching and experimental resources within the economics and management disciplines. It aims to simulate the systems and functions of a shared corporate financial services center, creating a smart learning environment for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty, to engage in teaching, experiments, research, and practice. This facility will support the development of national-level first-class undergraduate programs in Accounting, Financial Management, Business Administration, and Marketing. It will foster interdisciplinary collaboration within the Economics and Management disciplines and cultivate personnel in the New Business and Digital Intelligence.
The laboratory is equipped with 54 desktop workstations, 54 curved screen displays, 7 large screen display systems, a multimedia teaching control system, and an intelligent interactive lectern. These devices have different functions: The control system enables teachers to begin and end class with one click. It integrates with the existing control platform, minimizing the need for additional training. Six classroom screens can display the same content to support the class or different content for student interaction. Group Mode 1 allows screens 1, 3, and 5 to show the same content while screens 2, 4, and 6 display other content. Group Mode 2 enables each of the six screens to display different content, facilitating group presentations. The document camera is crucial for daily financial tasks including scanning and archiving receipts, like invoices and vouchers, making storage and retrieval easier. It aids in document digitization, expense review, accounting documents production, and quick scanning of financial statements and other important documents.
After an intensive construction period, the new laboratory was completed just in time for the evaluation. During the evaluation, the School of Accounting presented the achievements in digital and intelligent experimental teaching to the experts in this laboratory. The experts highly praised the laboratory and CUEB’s progress in digital and intelligent laboratory construction.
On June 28, the Network Information Center held an acceptance meeting for the “Equipment Purchase for the New Business Smart Learning Center” in Classroom 205 of the Shensi Building. The expert panel listened to reports from the construction project owners on project execution and completion, and reports from the contractor on project implementation. They reviewed relevant documents and addressed specific issues. After discussion, the panel concluded that the project met the contractual requirements, achieved its expected goals, followed proper implementation procedures, and had complete documentation. The expert group agreed that the project passed the acceptance review.
The launch of the new laboratory supports the digital and intelligent transformation of the experimental teaching of CUEB and advances the digital transformation of New Business disciplines, contributing significantly to the cultivation of digital economy personnel at CUEB.
