2024 Teaching Projects Bear New Fruits
In the winner lists recently unveiled by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, teachers and teaching teams from CUEB were honored with remarkable awards, including the Beijing Distinguished Teacher Award of Higher Education in 2024, the Beijing Excellent Undergraduate Course in 2024, the Beijing Excellent Undergraduate Textbook in 2024, and the Beijing Excellent Teaching Plan in 2024.
The teaching team of Quantitative Economics, led by Professor Wang Wenju from the School of Economics, won Beijing Excellent Teaching Team of Undergraduate Education in 2024. Professor Li Zhi from the School of Economics won the 20th Beijing Distinguished Teacher Award of Higher Education. Professor Sun Zhongjuan from the College of Business Administration and Professor Liu Jingwei from the School of Management and Engineering were awarded the 8th Beijing Distinguished Young Teacher Award of Higher Education.
CUEB also secured four Beijing Excellent Undergraduate Courses, four Excellent Undergraduate Textbooks, three Excellent Undergraduate Teaching Plans, two Excellent Teaching Plans, and one Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory. Moreover, seven teaching reform projects led by Professors Wu Weixing and Yin Zhichao from the School of Finance were approved as Beijing Higher Education Teaching Reform and Innovation Projects. In addition, Qian Cheng from the Academic Affairs Office, Lin Feng from the School of Management and Engineering, and Professor Zhao Xiuchi were honored as Beijing Outstanding Teaching Administrators of Higher Education, Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Support Personnel, and Outstanding Instructor of Academic Competition in 2024, respectively.
Over the past few years, CUEB has adhered to the “undergraduate-centered” philosophy, and prioritized the growth of its students. The university has implemented multiple initiatives to upgrade training programs in terms of courses, textbooks, teaching plans, courseware, teaching teams, grass-roots teaching organizations, practical teaching, and integration of industry and education. These efforts have successfully led to a batch of high-quality teaching resources and robust teaching and supporting teams. Of the 30 teaching projects submitted to the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, an outstanding 28 were granted approval, resulting in a remarkable approval rate of 93.3% for CUEB. This highlights CUEB’s significant progress in deepening the reform of undergraduate education.
Moving forward, CUEB will continue to advance its education and teaching reform, focusing on the digital transformation of student cultivation. By leveraging the exemplary role of award-winning projects and faculties, the university aims to cultivate more high-quality, competitive, and teaching projects, thus laying a solid foundation for developing the talent pool with innovation and comprehensive competence to serve the development of the capital in the new era.
