On September 12, the inaugural meeting of the CUEB Alumni Association in the United States was held in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Wu Weixing, Deputy Party Secretary and President of CUEB and Chairperson of CUEB Alumni Association, extended his congratulations to the meeting via a video. Vice President Yin Zhichao, member of the Standing Committee, and Vice President of the Standing Council of the CUEB Alumni Association, joined the meeting online.

On behalf of the university, Wu Weixing extended cordial greetings and best wishes to the alumni residing in America. Reviewing the university’s history of development and achievements over the years, he spoke highly of the accomplishments that overseas alumni have attained through their diligence and enterprise in their respective fields. He expressed the hope that they would continue to care for and support the development of their alma mater, and welcomed alumni to visit CUEB to renew friendships and pursue common development.

Yin Zhichao extended his congratulations on the establishment of this Alumni Association. He expected that the Association would further rally the strength of alumni overseas, carry forward CUEB spirit, and tell CUEB’s stories well, so as to build a warm platform of friendship, mutual support, and growth for alumni in the United States.

Li Hao, who enrolled in Safety Engineering at CUEB in 1985 and serves as Chairperson of the CUEB Alumni Association in the United States, stated that the Association would be dedicated to bringing together alumni in the United States, promoting exchanges and cooperation among them, serving their growth, and strengthening the ties between alumni overseas and the university, thereby contributing to enhancing CUEB’s international influence. Drawing on their own study and work experience in the United States, the alumni present at the meeting shared their sincere attachment to and deep concern for their Alma Mater despite being far from home. They unanimously expressed their willingness to rely on the platform of the Alumni Association to help one another and advance together, thereby contributing to the growth of alumni and the development of the university.

Following the inaugural meeting, the Alumni Association carried out a university flag relay activity marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of CUEB.

Representatives of the Association’s Council attended the inaugural meeting in person, while relevant officials from the Fengtai District Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Cooperation and Liaison Department of CUEB participated in the meeting online.
