Captures: CUEB Hosts 19th Annual Sports Games
Passionate youth competed for honor in the field
From April 24 to April 25.
The 19th Annual Sports Games
Was held in the CUEB in the deep Spring.

The young athletes were captured by cameras when pursuing their goals.
On the morning of April 25, the opening ceremony was held in the CUEB main campus stadium. Attendees included Wang Wenju, CUEB Party Secretary; Wu Weixing, Deputy Party Secretary and President of CUEB; Ouyang Qin, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB; Li Xiaomu, CUEB Vice President; Mao Baizhan, Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission; Yin Zhichao, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of CUEB and Yao Linxiu, Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee and Vice President of CUEB. CUEB Vice President Li Kunpeng, the Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee presided over the ceremony.
President Wu delivers the opening speech. In his address, he emphasized the university’s unwavering commitment to “fostering virtue and cultivating well-rounded talents”, fully implementing the Party’s educational policies. He reiterated CUEB’s dedication to prioritizing physical health in education and actively advancing the “Five-Education Integration” (virtue, intelligence, physical conditions, mind status, and community service) to empower students to “enjoy sports, strengthen their physique, refine their character, and build resilience”. The 19th Sports Games, he noted, serve as both a comprehensive review of the university’s athletic achievements and a dynamic platform for students to showcase their individuality and talents. Wu expressed his hope that the event would inspire students to realize that “Excellence requires not only moral integrity and academic prowess but also a robust physical foundation”.
Liang Xiao, a teacher from the Sports Department, and Yu Gefei, an undergraduate of Grade 2023 from the School of Finance, took their oaths on behalf of all judges and athletes respectively.
Steps as light as the wind, the procession moved forward,
exuding confidence and grace.
Members of the National Flag group of CUEB solemnly carried the national flag forward.
Accompanied by the majestic song of March of the Volunteers,
the Five-Starred Red Flag rose slowly.
As the morning sun bathed the arena,
the athletes were brimming with enthusiasm.

The group gymnastics performance in the opening ceremony of the Games
was one of the annual highlights for CUEBers.
Though brief, each performance reflects over a month of hard work by more than 1,800 teachers and students, who trained tirelessly day and night.
This excellent performance was also a vivid expression of the persistence and legacy passed down through generations of CUEBers.

Following the opening performance,
teams from each school took their turns on stage.
Teams from the School of Culture and Communication exhibited the vivacity of youth and elegance of order,
through a change of diverse formations.
With synchronized movements,
they showcased “Scholarly Virtue Shines Bright”
Students from the College of Business Administration
measured dreams with precise movements.
This is the flame of youth.
This is the framework of passionate dreams.
Students from the School of Law were full of vigor and vitality.
Each turn, every leap,
all expressed their love for their homeland.
And this is the canvas exhibiting the endless charm of youth.
Forming a bow and arrow, representatives from the School of Accounting
guided the audience through the path to prosperity,
celebrating the great spirit in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
The School of Management and Engineering began with a showcase of
Chinese Martial Arts.
They combined it with vibrant dance,
displaying creativity and passion through a striking contrast.
This is their youthful imagination.
The School of Labor Economics presented its spirit through performance,
fully demonstrating the vigor and confidence of the youth.
This is their strength in pursuing dreams.
This is their motivation to grow and thrive.
Teams of the International School of Economics and Management,
impressed the audience with dance steps passionately and enthusiastically.
This is the blossoming in their lives.
This is their shared anthem of youth.
From dynamic double circles to orderly square formations, each position was
a key coordinate for the students from the School of Statistics.
This is their audacious preview of the future.
Delegations from the School of Data Science
interpreted the spirit of Nezha in their performance,
demonstrating their strong sense of responsibility as a youth.
These youngsters were composing a new vibrant symphony.
The formation of the Overseas Chinese College resembled a blossoming flower,
sometimes rippling, sometimes closing,
showcasing their pursuit of strength and flexibility.
The blue and silver ball blossoms resembled flowers of our wonderful life.
Majestic curtains, swirling in a riot of hues,
transformed into sails that ride the waves.
Students from the College of Urban Economics and Public Management
shined bright with their dreams, grew, and thrived in the new era.
Students from the School of Public Finance and Taxation waved flags,
conveying their commitment to peace.
The outline of China’s map appeared in the center of the sports field,
representing their collective wish for peace.
Carrying the hopes of the farmlands into the campus,
students from the School of Foreign Studies portrayed their passion
for the issues of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers.
They took “determination and bravery” as the theme of their performance,
reflecting the spirit of the students pursuing their dreams.
The military spirit forges sharp weapons,
and the red banner illuminates the journey.
Students from the School of Finance
carried forward the spirit of China’s revolutionary tradition.
Their loud slogans, radiating confidence and pride,
paid tribute to the immortal military spirit in the name of youth.
The windmills rotated, like the sails of youth, carrying beautiful wishes.
Students from the School of Economics,
explored the challenges of our time with keen economic insights.
Guided by a deep sense of family and national responsibilities,
they are navigating life’s journey.
They are the wave-riders of the era, singing at the forefront of progress.
At the end of the group gymnastics performance,
international students from the School of International Education
danced with Chinese students,
their enthusiasm and vitality overflowing.
They conveyed friendship and understanding across borders,
demonstrating the exchange and integration of Chinese and foreign cultures.
Young athletes pour their sweat on the field, passion and vitality radiating through every move.
The youth showed their spirit struggling for honor,
and the verses of striving were sung aloud.
After the group gymnastics performance concluded,
the individual events of the sports congress began.
“Faster, Higher, Stronger—Together,”
the famous Olympic motto
guided students’ efforts in the sports meet,
extending CUEB’s “Camel Spirit” onto the sports field.
Closing Ceremony
At around 4 p.m., the closing ceremony of the sports congress was held. Ouyang Qin announced the list of units honored with the Spiritual Civilization Award, Best Organization Award, and Bravery Award. Li Hao, the Head Referee of the firefighting project and Deputy Director of the Party Committee Security Department, revealed the results of the firefighting project. Zhang Xiaohang, the Chief Referee of the sports congress and Deputy Director of the Sports Department, announced the overall team scores. Chief Referee Chen Si announced the results of the group gymnastics competition, while Chief Referee Liao Yangang announced the results of the physical fitness test competition.
