CUEB Professors Zhang Dongyang and He Feng Ranked Named to Highly Cited Chinese Researchers List
In the 2024 list of Highly Cited Chinese Researchers recently released by Elsevier, Professors Zhang Dongyang and He Feng from CUEB were recognized for their academic contributions.
This list has been highly respected by media outlets and scholars domestically and internationally for years, offering valuable data on the research contributions of Chinese scholars with globally authoritative citations and an index database. The list not only aims to deeply integrate the distribution of Chinese research personnel with the advantages of institutional disciplines but also maps the core competitiveness of universities and research institutions in key technological fields. It provides data-driven decision support for discipline development and personnel training, and reveals the topics and methodological innovations of high-quality research. In 2024, a total of 6,388 Chinese scholars were listed as Highly Cited Researchers from 547 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 83 first-level disciplines across 10 major disciplines defined by the Ministry of Education.
Profile of Zhang Dongyang
Zhang Dongyang, a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Economics in CUEB with the titles of “Young Beijing Scholar”, “Beijing High-level Returnee”, and “Leader of Distinguished Young Scholar” of CUEB, is now the deputy director of the Personnel Office of CUEB. He is Chair of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Humanities and Social Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education, and the Social Science Foundation of Beijing. He has published over 80 academic papers in domestic and international journals such as the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Energy Economics, China Economic Review, Emerging Markets Review, Public Finance Research, and Economic Theory and Business Management. Zhang was selected among the “Global Top 2% Scientists List”, which was released by Stanford University, and was awarded “Elsevier’s Chinese Highly Cited Researcher in Applied Economics” from 2022 to 2024.

He Feng, a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Finance in CUEB with the title of “Leader of Distinguished Young Scholar” of CUEB, is now the Deputy Director of the Research Office of CUEB. He presides over many research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund, and the China Association for Science and Technology. He published over 70 academic papers in domestic and international journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, British Accounting Review, Journal of Futures Markets, Quantitative Finance, Energy Economics, Annals of Operations Research, System Engineering-Theory & Practice, Journal of Quantitative & Technological Economics, and Journal of Financial Research. In 2024, He was selected among the “Global Top 2% Scientists List”, which was released by Stanford University, and was awarded “Elsevier’s Chinese Highly Cited Researcher in Applied Economics”.
