“Three-Stage Advancement and Five-Dimensional Framework”: Construction and Practice of the “FIRST” System for Digital Transformation in Universities of Finance and Economics
Project Overview
Against the backdrop of China’s strategies to build a leading country in education and a Digital China, CUEB has responded to the growing demand for interdisciplinary professionals with digital and intelligent capabilities in economics, finance and business. Through more than a decade of systematic exploration, the university has developed a three-stage pathway of “digital transition, digital empowerment, and digitally enabled development of economics and business”, supported by the five-dimensional “FIRST” system covering infrastructure, program renewal, teaching reform, faculty support, and educational transformation. It has built the first discipline-specific large model in China’s education sector of finance and economics, covering all students and forming a complete loop from general to professional education. The project has created a full-chain paradigm for digital-intelligent education in economics, finance and business. Since its implementation, faculty and students have significantly improved their digital and intelligent capabilities, and a large number of interdisciplinary students for the digital economy have been trained. Therefore, the project provides a replicable template for the digital transformation.
“One Core, Two Transformations, Three Types”: Exploration and Practice of Talent Cultivation Model in Finance and Economics for the High-Quality Development of the Capital
Project Overview
“One Core, Two Transformations, Three Types” is a talent cultivation model developed by CUEB over more than two decades. Centered on the core mission of “fostering virtue through education and serving the high-quality development of Beijing”, the model leverages “internationalization and intelligence” as its two wings to chart three tailored paths toward developing “innovative, multidisciplinary, and practical” professionals in economics and business. By establishing strategic elite classes, industry leader classes, and capital-function multidisciplinary classes, the university has successfully upgraded a cluster of national first-class majors through digital transformation. Currently, approximately 80% of graduates choose to work in Beijing, providing a steady stream of high-caliber expertise to support the capital’s development. This model has served as a valuable reference and demonstrated positive value among universities of finance and economics nationwide.
Innovation and Practice of the “Three Intelligences” Cultivation Model for Graduate Students in Finance and Economics in the AI Era
