Party Secretary Feng Pei Attends Launching Ceremony of Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance
From April 11th to 13th, Feng Pei, Party Secretary of CUEB, attended the launching ceremony of Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology along with the delegation of Beijing Municipal Education Commission. Chen Baosheng, Education Minister, Tan Tieniu, Deputy Director of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R, Yang Runxiong, Director General of Hong Kong Education Bureau, Liu Yuhui, Director of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, etc., also attended the ceremony and witnessed the establishment of the Alliance.
Led by Peking University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance was co-initiated by 12 universities in Beijing, including Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Beihang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing Foreign Studies University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing University of Technology, Capital Normal University, Capital Medical University CUEB, etc., and 8 universities in Hong Kong, including the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Baptist University, Education University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, Lingnan University, etc. The establishment of the alliance will strengthen exchanges between universities in Hong Kong and Beijing and deepen cooperation in professional nurturing and scientific research to achieve mutual benefits and win-win cooperation.
During his visit in Hong Kong, Feng also met with Wu Wei, a student of Finance and Accounting School of the Class of 1990, as well as Executive Director and CFO of Alibaba Group. Feng briefly introduced the recent development of CUEB and had dialogue with Wu on setting up Internet Finance major and professional nurturing.
