Party Secretary Feng Pei Meets with UTS Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President to Sign Agreement
On April 19th, Feng Pei, Party Secretary of CUEB met with Ian Watt, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and his delegation in the Boyuan Building. The two sides signed agreements on academic cooperation and “2+2” Undergraduate Joint-Degree Program.
Feng Pei extended warm welcome to Ian Watt and his team, briefing them on the school running of CUEB. With the unique and internationalized mode of education, Overseas Chinese College (OCC), among other schools of CUEB, has sent the most students abroad for education through exchange programs with western universities, said Feng Pei. The students of OCC saw spectacular improvement in their English proficiency, benefiting from IELTS-based and English-immersion classes. The UTS, followed by the University of New Mexico, is the second partner that cooperated with the OCC on double undergraduate degree program.
Ian Watt briefly introduced school-running model and other situations of the UTS. As he presented, CUEB is the first Chinese university that he cooperated with on joint-degree program since he joined the UTS. He will give full support to the follow-up implementation of this program in terms of academic exchanges, students’daily lives, etc. Moreover, he was looking forward to the regular visits, studies and exchanges between teachers of the two universities after the signature of the agreement.
Zhu Yuhua, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB, Jiao Yong, General Party branch Secretary and Executive Vice-Dean of the OCC, Chen Hongmei, Vice-Dean of the OCC and Huang Liwei, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchanges Office attended the meeting.
