President Fu Met with Delegation from KIMEP and Signed Cooperation Agreement
On the morning of April 30th, President Fu Zhifeng met with Dr. Chan Young Bang and his team from Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics & Strategic Research (KIMEP) in Boyuan Building.
On behalf of CUEB, President Fu signed the cooperation agreement together with Dr. Bang, presenting him a letter to confer him as Distinguished Professor of CUEB.
With a brief introduction to CUEB, President Fu, expressed heartfelt welcome to Dr. Bang and his team. He pointed out that CUEB attaches great importance to internationalized development and working together with countries alongside the Belt & Road, looking forward to a win-win cooperation with KIMEP in terms of science & research, talents-cultivation, teacher exchanges and so on.
Invited to attend the 2nd Belt and Road Forum, delegation from KIMEP are devoted to international exchanges & cooperation. Dr. Bang showed appreciation for our warm reception and presented basic information of KIMEP, with a view to future exchanges & cooperation between the two universities.
Xie Haixia & Huang Liwei, Director & Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Yin Zhichao & Gao Jieying, President & Deputy President of School of Finance attended the meeting.
Later, Dr. Chan delivered a speech themed Higher Education in National Economy. Combing abundant theories, he described his own education experiences and demonstrated how higher education plays a critically important role in current society. He said China values education which becomes more and more powerful in the globe. In the meantime, he encouraged students to expand their horizons by studying in other universities of different countries, enrich their knowledge and life experiences so that they can give full play to their potentials and make greater contributions to the national economy.
Located in Almaty, Kazakhstan, KIMEP was founded in 1992 by Dr. Chan Young Bang, former chief economic adviser of Kazakhstan’s pre-President. According to IQAA, authority in university ranking in Kazakhstan, KIMEP topped the first in Kazakhstan’s universities featuring economics and humanities from 2013 to 2016.
