President Fu Zhifeng Meets LSUA Delegation
On May 20th, CUEB President Fu Zhifeng met with the delegation from Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) led by Prof. Eamon Gerald Halpin, Associate Vice Chancellor. The two sides exchanged on further inter-university cooperation.
After extending warm welcome to Halpin, Fu Zhifeng highlighted CUEB’s situation. Fu noted that CUEB valued the university’s global development and its cooperation with overseas universities. He also hoped that the two sides could strengthen efforts in building more cooperation projects on joint education for students and exchanges between teachers.
Then, Halpin gave a brief introduction to LSUA, saying that the university, as a major player in the education system of Louisiana State University, seeks to cooperate with foreign universities as it is committed to making undergraduate education more accessible and better. Halpin also hoped that their trip to CUEB could generate more teachers’ exchanges and academic cooperation projects.
Afterwards, Guo Yuanyuan, Deputy Dean of the School of Culture and Communication, Zhang Hongfeng, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, and Wang Yue, project manager of the Overseas Chinese College, addressed the audience with speeches respectively concerning the disciplines, teachers, scientific researches and existing international projects in their schools. Min Wu, Associate Professor of the Department of Arts, English, and Humanities, Long Li, Associate Professor of the Department Business Administration, and Nina Cox, Coordinator of International Programs, introduced the prominent disciplines and the ongoing international projects. The two sides expressed their willingness to see more regular visits, studies and exchanges between teachers and students.
Five students from LSUA experienced Chinese cultural activities prepared by the School of Culture and Communication, including Chinese tea ceremony and calligraphy. The delegation also took a tour to the university history museum and Humanities & Media Experimental Education Center. Huang Liwei, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office, attended the meeting.
