On July 3rd, the CUEB Undergraduate Commencement & Degree Conferment Ceremony for the Class of 2019 was held in the gym of CUEB. Party Secretary Feng Pei, President Fu Zhifeng, Deputy Party Secretary Xu Fang, Vice President Ding Lihong and Wang Chuansheng, Party Committee member and Director of Organization Department Yu Zhong, Party Committee member and Director of the United-Front Work Department Xing Qi attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Wang Chuansheng.

The graduation ceremony started with the ballad Don't Say Goodbye of CUEB version and We are All Dream Chasers chorused by counselors of CUEB.

Feng Pei announced the Permission for Graduation of Undergraduates & Post-secondary Graduates of the Class of 2019 and the Decision on Conferment of Diplomas for Undergraduates of Class of 2019. 2332 graduates got Bachelors’ Degrees, including 854 Bachelor of Economics, 1198 of Management, 144 of Science, 74 of Engineering, 163 of Law, and 242 of Arts.

On the ceremony, Xu Fang read out the Decision on Honoring Jiang Yuchen and other 143 graduates with the Title of Beijing Outstanding Graduates and the Decision on Honoring Zhou Yong and other 36 Graduates for Serving in Community. In 2019, 144 graduates and post-secondary graduates were praised as Beijing Outstanding Graduates, and 37 graduates dedicated to the work in community, Western China and of national defense, heeding to the call of the Central Party and the State Council. The university officials presented certificates of honor to the valedictorians. Besides, to strengthen the ties between the alumni and their alma meter, the university selected 135 graduates of the class of 2019 as liaisons and issued them letters of appointment.

On the ceremony, graduate representative Du Jintao from the School of Economics made a speech and dedicated his painting Four Seasons in CUEB to the alma meter.

Alumni rep Guan Xianyue, the graduate of the class of 1989 and president of Beijing JC Capital Co, Ltd. delivered a speech on the ceremony.

On behalf of the university, Fu Zhifeng extended congratulations to all graduates and paid high tribute to teachers and parents who nurtured the students with heart and soul. He also shared materials on memories of students’ campus lives, collected by applying big data. At last, he expressed sincere wishes to the graduates: the first is to be patriotic, which means you fellows should cherish your time and contribute to our motherland in this new era; second, as a citizen, you should work for the public interest while caring about your own families; third, improve yourselves in terms of both mentality and wealth and balance your family and career.

The university made for the graduates a CD named Forever Young & Eternal Dream recording the best moments of students’ campus lives. Besides, limited edition crystal trophies were prepared for graduates to encourage them to stay true to the original intention, keep innocent and be creative. They are expected to shoulder the responsibilities of the times and create a better life with unremitting efforts. The leaders presented the gifts to the representatives on the ceremony.

The university leaders conferred degrees on graduates, approved by Academic Degree Committee of CUEB. The ceremony has drawn to a close in the sonorous chorus “I Love You, China!” by all teachers and students.
