On September 5th, CUEB held Opening Ceremony for 2019 undergraduates in the gym. Party Secretary Feng Pei, President Fu Zhifeng, Deputy Party Secretary Xu Fang, Vice President Ding Lihong, Vice President Wang Yonggui,Xing Qi, Standing Committee of Party Committee, Deans, Party Secretaries, Deputy Party Secretaries, instructors as well as head teachers attended the ceremony. Vice president Wang Chuansheng presided over the ceremony.

The ceremony began with the majestic national anthem and flag-raising ceremony.

At first, on behalf of all faculties and students, President Fu Zhifeng welcomed 2463 undergraduates to join the big family of CUEB, bringing new vibrancy and vigor. Next, President Fu Zhifeng shared three unique skills with students that can lead them to a fruitful life in the university. The skills are as follows:

First, students should have dreams. He pointed out that the golden time of young students is going through the national strategy of “Two Centenary Goals”. Students should be firm in their faith and set a promising goal, making the personal value shine in the cause of national rejuvenation. Second, students should practice skills. President Fu Zhifeng indicated that young people are in their golden time of learning. Students should regard learning as their primary task, read more classic books, make more excellent friends, do more helpful things and try their best to become a “slash”. Third, students should be responsible. They should have the composure of “upright stands the bamboo amid green mountains steep” and the vigor of “roll up our sleeves and work hard”. To be an action practitioner and problem-solver, create your own upward speed and stories. In the end, President Fu Zhifeng encouraged all students to keep the motto “Advocate morality, value competence, strategize national development, and serve the people” in mind, and wished teenagers to be a reliable youth in a new era and enjoy a colorful and pleasant college time in CUEB.

Feng Xiliang, Dean of School of Labor Economics delivered a speech on behalf of all teachers. Facing the professional studies in university, he provided some guidelines for students and hoped that students can acquire the ability of analysis, thinking, inheritance and innovation while learning to transcend themselves and break through their limits, thus to build up the system of ability and spirit to light their future.

On behalf of the whole undergraduates, Li Xiaoran, a junior from School of Management Engineering gave a speech---- Efforts Change Your Life .

Fan Yiyang, a 2019 undergraduate from School of Economics gave a speech on behalf of all undergraduate.

Later, all the new students solemnly made a pledge to the university flag. On behalf of CUEB, Party Secretary Feng Pei accepts the Oath Banner signed by all undergraduates.

In the “rainbow gift-giving” part, school leaders gave seven gifts in seven different colors, that is, red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue and purple to the newcomers who have won the gifts. They expected students can enjoy the learning, acquire knowledge in practice, exercise the body in endeavor and begin a colorful life in CUEB.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the foundation of our motherland. At the end of ceremony, all teachers and students sang My Country and I under the lead of school choir, presenting CUEBers’ sincere blessing to our country.

By the end of the ceremony, Party Secretary Feng Pei gave the first lesson about Fight with Our Country . Starting from the interests of the generation born after the year of 2000, Feng analyzed the current development of China and a series of social hot issues in simple terms. He encourages students to cherish time when keeping up with the era, to improve the ability in accordance with the demand of CPC and the people, to aim for the highest, cultivate ability and morality, coordinate sense and sensibility, dare to explore, fly dreams in vigorous youth and achieve great success through hard work.
