CUEBers’ First Day Back to School, Welcome!
With more than 2,100 undergraduate students of Grades 2018 and 2019 from 6 Colleges, such as the College of Urban Economics and Public Administration, the campus, which has been quiet for more than 7 months, is once again bustling.
Today the sun is particularly warm, the flowers are particularly delicate, and the birds and insects are particularly beautiful, as if they are telling together: Welcome home!
From today, the CUEBers will come back to school in batches from all parts of the country. It is expected that all students will return to school and register before September 24th.
Pick-up: I’m Here to Take You Home
“Each time we meet again after a long separation, it is a good start.” Holding welcoming signs high, this morning, a team of volunteers from the Office of Student Affairs and the Youth League Committee arrived at the Beijing South Railway Station and West Railway stations early in the morning to welcome 225 students who are about to return to school.

Early this morning, he went to the pick-up station of Beijing South Railway Station to welcome the students returning from other places to Beijing. “It’s hard, but very excited. I can’t wait to meet the students. I hope that students will feel the warm care from the school as soon as they arrive the station. I also wish that students can grow up under the big test of the epidemic and more cherish their time on campus,” he said with a smile.

“It was really nice to meet the teachers and volunteers at the station, and I felt a strong sense of belonging!” said Hou Ziyi, an undergraduate of the School of Culture and Communication of Grade 2019 from Xingtai, Hebei Province
Admission to Campus: safe and orderly, scientific and standardized
Before returning to school, the students all learned about the knowledge of epidemic prevention in advance. When entering the campus, the students said goodbye to their families at the school gate, entered the school independently, and worked closely with the staff of Security Department and the school hospital and the teachers of the college to show the health codes, take temperature, carry out facial recognition, and then go into school according to the procedure. After entering the school, students should keep a safe distance and queue up to enter through the West Gate of the Building of Shensi and then to receive information registration and nucleic acid testing at the South Gate.
At 6:20 in the morning, Jia Yixuan, an undergraduate of the School of Law arrived at the North Gate of the campus and completed the check-up of all the information about entering the school. He became the first student to return back to the campus in the new term.
“I set off from my hometown in Handan, Hebei Province. When I arrived at Beijing West Railway Station at 5:30 in the morning, I rushed to the school as soon as I could. I came back early and told my roommates about the dormitory. Everyone was happy to hear that it was in good condition. We have been looking forward to going back to school and class. I believe that after this experience, teachers and students will be able to create a new future together.”

On Campus: Reunion and Vitality
It remains the same when we enter the dormitory. Students are busy with arranging luggage and cleaning the dormitory.
At 6:40 this morning, at the west door of Sai'ou Apartment, CUEB welcomes the first back-to-school undergraduate student Mu Canxing from the School of Labor Economics of Grade 2018. She said," I left from my home in Shanxi Province last night, arrived at Beijing South Railway Station at about 5 o'clock and then reached school gate at about 6 o'clock this morning. Under the guidance of teachers, the registration and testing process are completed in 10 minutes smoothly. I missed CUEB, teachers and classmates during a long vacation at home; and now I’m very excited to get back. I hope everyone has a fulfilling and rewarding semester."

Before returning to school, she learned about the situation of campus management through the online seminar held by CUEB, and prepared protective masks and disinfectants in advance. "What makes me most happy is that the dormitory is very clean and there is very little dust. Before returning to school, I was worried about the situation in the dormitory. After seeing the actual situation, I am very grateful to the school staff for maintaining the campus environment during the epidemic!" she said.
Miss you, the third cafeteria (the largest in Asia)! Entering the cafeteria, there is an obvious one-meter separation line on the ground, and the distance between tables and chairs in the lobby is slightly increased. Although there are changes, what remains unchanged is the "familiar taste" and cordial staff waiting for you to come home.
