On the morning of April 30, CUEB held the “14th Five-Year” Plan Symposium in the 7th conference room on the 5th floor of Bona Building, seeking for suggestions from the secretaries of various colleges on the Development Plan for the“14th Five-Year Plan" (draft for comment). Han Xianzhou, the Party Secretary of CUEB, and Xu Fang, the Deputy Party Secretary attended the symposium. Ding Lihong, the Vice President of CUEB, presided over the symposium.

At the meeting, Wu Qifu, the Director of Development Planning and Evaluation Department, introduced the compilation of CUEB “14th Five-Year Plan”. Participants put forward guiding suggestions, based on the draft themes, including Party building, ideological and political work, College management and personnel system.

Ding Lihong expressed his gratitude to the secretaries for their suggestions，after listening to their speeches,. He pointed out that the 14th Five-Year Plan should be focused on the target object, improving its rationality and practicability. 

Xu Fang confirmed the significance of the compilation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and pointed out that the plan plays a key role in leading development and inspiring people. Leaderships of the Party together with the value and significance of ideological and political courses in higher education should be emphasized in the planning compilation. The plan should reflect the characteristics of CUEB and contributions that CUEB can make for Beijing’s regional development.

Han Xianzhou pointed out in his summary speech that the 14th Five-Year Plan has clear characteristics of the times and it reflects the trend of development of the country, Beijing and schools after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It should further reflect the overall leadership of the Party, foster character and civic virtue through education, and fully promote “Three Aspects Education”.（the integrity of all staff, whole process and all-around education, so as to fully foster character and civic virtue）We should clearly understand the role and responsibility of CUEB in Beijing, being based on Beijing and serving Beijing. The plan should also closely follow the characteristics of school classification, taking the developing plan for classified university education and the building of high-level research university as the key work.
