To foster students’ sense of lifelong physical exercise, enrich students’ extracurricular physical life, strengthen the atmosphere of campus sports culture and promote integration of in-and-on class, the Sports Department works together with the Youth League CUEB Committee and the student union to hold 2021 University Sports & Culture Festival. The activity lasts for nearly a month from April 26 to May 28. This festival involves a variety of activities, such as the “Funny Sports Week”, athletic events in sports meeting, as well as health test match to improve the physical health of the students.

On April 26, a football game named “The Swift-Footed Arrive First”, the first event of this festival and the “Funny Sports Week” started in CUEB outdoor football field. 150 students from 14 colleges participated in the football race. Students with enthusiasm always had good performance. After an hour of the competition, School of Public Finance and Taxation won the first place in the stage racing of “Funny Sports Week”. Games of table tennis, badminton, floor curling and basketball are going to take place in the following week.

President Xi has repeatedly stressed the importance of “a strong country in sports and health”. Colleges in China should play a key role in physical education so as to make students stronger, cultivate sound personality, promote students’ all-round moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic spirits. CUEB is always committed to helping students set up the sense of lifelong physical exercise and make students healthier. The “University Sports &Culture Festival” in CUEB does not merely correspond with the policy but also develops CUEB’s physical education.

“Promote sports spirits and show energetic youth!” All CUEBers shall have fun in the coming month.
