On the morning of June 23, CUEB held graduation Commencement & Degree Awarding Ceremony at the gymnasium. Party Secretary of CUEB Han Xianzhou, President of CUEB Fu Zhifeng, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB Xu Fang, as well as Ding Lihong, Wang Chuansheng, Sun Haozhe and Wang Yonggui, members of CUEB Party Standing Committee and Vice Presidents of CUEB, together with Chen Caiqun, a member of CUEB Party Standing Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Committee, and Xing Qi, a member of CUEB Party Standing Committee and Director of the United-Front Work Department attended the ceremony. Sun Haozhe presided over the ceremony.

The graduation ceremony got started with songs, Love of Motherland by retired teachers，“Pride Youth by representatives of students, and CUEB Anthem Long Voyage by counselors from 15 colleges in CUEB.

Wang Chuansheng read out The Decision on Approving the graduation of the Graduate, Undergraduate, and Junior College Student of Grade 2021 and The Decision on Degree Conferring on Graduates of Grade 2021. A total of 58 graduates got doctor degrees, 1,279 graduates master degrees, and 2660 graduates bachelor degrees.

Xu Fang read out The Decision on Awarding Wang Xiangyu and Other 200 Students Honorary Title“Outstanding Graduates of Beijing Municipality”and Decision on Commending Chen Runyang and Other 44 Graduates to Work at Grassroots Level. In 2021, 201 graduates and post-secondary graduates were praised as Beijing Outstanding Graduates, and 45 graduates dedicated to the work in community, Western China and in national defense, heeding to the call of the Central Party and the State Council.

The university officials presented certificates of honor to the valedictorians.

To strengthen the relationship between Alma Mater and alumni, CUEB employed 179 alumni liaisons. Ding Lihong issued letters of appointment to alumni liaisons.

At the ceremony, Guo Junyan, a doctor of School of Finance, Chang Rui, a foreign student of School of Economics and Dang Gexuan, an undergraduate of School of Statistics delivered a speech respectively on behalf of the graduates. They recollected their life in CUEB, extended gratitude to the cultivation of Alma Mater, to the care of teachers, to the support by relatives and friends and to the company of classmates. Besides, they had best wishes for motherland, Alma Mater and all the graduates at the joint time of celebrating Party's centenary and the 65th anniversary of the founding of CUEB.

Professor Wang Jingda from School of Public Finance and Taxation spoke on the ceremony as a teacher representative. She suggested that students make plans for their future and improve themselves in a steady way, so as to keep on working for national development for at least 50 years. Professor Wang hoped that all graduates can insist on study, keep creative, have a pure mind and go for their dreams.

As a graduate of Grade 1985 and a general manager of Infotech Ventures Co., Ltd, Zhou Ning delivered a speech at the commencement. He reviewed his work experience in the past 40 years after graduation. He also hoped that graduates of Grade 2021 can be in quick response to the market demand and to the call of the times, and then make achievements through unremitting efforts.

On behalf of CUEB, Fu Zhifeng expressed congratulations on graduates of Class 2021.He hoped that as all CUEB graduates will be responsible and hardworking from a new historical starting point. It means that we should not only conform to “Realizing Personal Value”, but also insist on “Making Contributions to the Society”. Besides, we should learn skills, make achievements and keep healthy, so as to present “the best way of growth” as CUEBers with industrial spirit and responsibilities.

The ceremony drew to an end with CUEB Anthem Long Voyage by all the staffs and students.

Later, CUEB leadership awarded degrees to graduates, working at the grassroots level, servicing for the western region in China and joining the army. And CUEB Degree Committee authorized each school to award all graduates degrees. 

Heads of relevant departments, Party Secretaries and Presidents of all colleges, Deputy Party Secretaries in charge of student work, together with all counselors, head teachers of graduating classes and graduates attended the commencement. A total of 7909 people, including parents of students and representatives of alumni, watched the live streaming of the commencement online.

As time goes by, we recollect the past. In order to create a warm and orderly atmosphere, Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, Graduate Affairs Department, External Liaison and Cooperation Office（Alumni Association）and Youth League Committee jointly hold a series of “Graduation Carnival” activities. There were 12 graduation themed activities, including Letter of Youth Sent to Future Impression of CUEB, Maker Market, Amusing Fang, Badge Making and so on. Graduates recollected the past, gave blessings to one another and wished for a bright future.
