In order to celebrate the coming of the new year, CUEB held the 2022 New Year Gala on December 28th. Fu Zhifeng, President of CUEB, Xu Fang and Wu Hui, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB, Ding Lihong, Wang Chuansheng, Sun Haozhe and Wang Yonggui, Vice President of CUEB, and Xing Qi, a member of the CUEB Party Standing Committee and Director of United Front Work Division attended the ceremony. Also, the head of related departments, Party Secretaries, Deans, teachers, and students got involved. The ceremony was simultaneously broadcast live to CUEBers through Bilibili, eliciting a positive response.

The song and dance show “Happy Chinese New Year” opened the ceremony. More than 20 teachers from the dance troupe of the School Union lifted the curtain on the bright year of 2022 with delightful rhythm and dynamic melody.

The melodious folk music ensembles “My Motherland” perfectly showcased the appreciation to the splendid land and industrious people.

The dance “Out of the Swamp” from the CUEB dance troupe gave a vivid picture of the spirit of struggle presented by the Chinese people who won victory through great resilience and determination. 

The drama “Thunderous Square”, based on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, was a good narration full of touching stories of how thousands of revolutionary veterans devoted their youth to the motherland.

An Acappella version of “We are all Dreamers” expressed, through elegant rhythm and without accompaniment, the determination of the young generation to pursue dreams.

An original dance created by CUEB — “Song of Boat,” namely, the boat for the first meeting of the CPC, paid tribute to the great spirit of revolutionary martyrs and the brave Communist Party of China.

The orchestral ensemble “The Classical Symphonic Songs” was a combination of soothing and exciting segments, delivering a gorgeous ensemble at the ceremony.

The magic “Mystery” led the audience into a magic world with superb and ingenious magic skills which surprised the audience and won applause.

The dance “Embroidery of Spring” brought home to people the beauty of Jiangnan (the South of the Yangtze River) in March by using poetic stage performance and graceful moving postures.

The model show “Lotus Pond” presented by CUEB model team demonstrated the decent appearance and positive attitudes of teaching staff at CUEB.

The dance “Youth” was also enriched with energy. With collision between vitalized youth and joyful dance, the performers integrated their graceful movements into delightful music, bringing a visual feast to the teachers and students.

Near the end of the show, the song “The Chase” from the CUEB student chorus expressed the attitude of a persistent man who fought against adversities and loneliness and never surrendered to destiny, which drove the performance to a new high.

Closing the show, all performance members and workers came to answer a curtain call. 

How time flies, and the future is shining. In the coming new year, all CUEBers will stay committed to their faith in and determination to start a new journey building a modern socialist country in an all-round way.

By committing to this vision, we can create a more splendid composition by building CUEB into a municipal high-level research university in Beijing and China’s first-class and worldly-renowned university of finance and economics.
