On March 1, CUEB held the first offline job fair at the gymnasium. Focusing on the key and difficult issues in the current employment, this fair aimed to further study the spirit of the Party’s 20th National Congress in the process to implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on career and entrepreneurship of college graduates.

Sun Haozhe, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, made an in-person visit at the fair for employment guidance. After learning the current recruitment needs of employers and the job-hunting situation of graduates, Sun pointed out that after the epidemic, with the combination of “going outside” and “bringing in”, we are required to strengthen in-depth cooperation with enterprises, in a bid to expand employment channels and fully understand the market demand. We should keep abreast of the employment situation of graduates and the recruitment process of employers in a stable, careful manner so as to foster more high-quality professionals for enterprises and the society.

A total of 98 employers were invited to this job fair, providing 5114 positions. Central enterprises and state-owned enterprises account for nearly 50% of the total, with the rest including public institutions, research institutes and large enterprises. More than 10 leading enterprises from banking, insurance, securities and other financial industries provided a large number of positions for graduates in the fields of finance, marketing, consulting management, business services and so on. Our school also invited more than 30 key Beijing municipal enterprises to expand the positions to food and drug, education and research, construction manufacturing, transportation, real estate and other fields. In this fair, there were long queues in front of many employers’ booths. With almost 1700 graduates attending the job fair, 9447 resumes were sent and 1729 employment intentions were initially reached.

With early planning, arrangements and actions, CUEB explored more resources to broaden the employment channels through visiting enterprises and other approaches. The Career Guidance Centre also provided some career guidance services in an immediate and accurate manner, such as “resume clinic”, employment consultation, and policy explanation and these were added in this fair. Teachers from the Dandelion Career Development Studio of CUEB, a famous career guidance studio among colleges and universities in Beijing, gave precise guidance for graduates’ resumes.

Going forward, we will hold multi-scale and frequent campus recruitment activities in accordance with the needs of graduates. Additionally, we can promote “Three-Wide Education” (which means all educational workers strive to foster students in all processes and in all respects), and help our graduates to pursue their dreams.
