CUEB Holds 2023 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony
On the morning of June 15, the 2023 Undergraduate Commencement and Degree Conferment Ceremony was held in the gymnasium of CUEB.Wang Wenju, Secretary of CUEB Party Committee, President Wu Weixing, Xu Fang, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee, Mao Baizhan, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee, and Yin Zhichao, Yao Linxiu, Chen Yanbin (Yin, Yao, and Chen are members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Presidents) attended the ceremony. Vice President Li Xiaomu, of CUEB, presided over the ceremony.
The ceremony began with songs performed by student representatives, an original song titled "Striving to Run" by teachers, and a video produced by the Party Committee Publicity Department titled "Happy Graduation! We Will Meet Again".
Secretary Wang Wenju announced the Permission for Graduation of Undergraduates of Class 2023 and the Decision on Conferment of Diplomas for Undergraduates of Class 2023.In total, 2,987 students graduated and 3,170 undergraduates were awarded bachelor's degrees.
Deputy Secretary Xu Fang announced the Decision on Honoring Zhang Jingyi and other 144 graduates with the Title of Beijing Outstanding Graduates and the Decision on Honoring Liu Yijun and other 33 Graduates for Serving in Community and Joining the Army.This year, a total of 145 graduates were honored with the title of "Beijing Outstanding Graduates", and 34 graduates dedicated themselves to community, Western China and national defense. CUEB leadership awarded these graduates Certificates of Honor.
To strengthen the communication between graduates and the university, a system of liaisons was established. 155 graduates were appointed as 2023 alumni liaisons.Yin Zhichao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, presented an appointment letter to Pan Zhuowen from the School of Foreign Studies, representative of alumni liaison.
Zheng Miao from the School of Law made a speech as a representative of the 2023 graduate students. Themed with "Chasing Light with Determination", she recalled the warm friendships and experiences in the past four years and expressed her gratitude to CUEB, teachers, and classmates, and gave her best wishes.
Professor Liu Xuexin from College of Business Administration made a speech as a teacher representative. He told the stories of the 2023 undergraduates with examples during COVID-19 and expressed his best wishes for them to achieve their dreams through dedication.
Kuang Zhenxing, an Enterprise Management major alumnus of Grade 1986, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Beijing Cuiwei Group Co., Ltd., made a speech. He encouraged the graduates to be virtuous and diligent. He also hoped that the graduates could choose a career they like in a growing industry, cherish their youthful years and create a better future.
President Wu Weixing congratulated the 2023 undergraduates on behalf of CUEB. He wished them to develop cultivation and competence, and cultivate responsibility. He also hoped that the alumni could act on CUEB’s motto “Advocate morality, value competence, strategize national development, and serve the people”, demonstrate the “Camel Spirit”, and integrate individual efforts into a collective pursuit of a better future.
Later, CUEB leaders presented diplomas to the graduates who will dedicate themselves to Western China community and join the army. CUEB Degree Committee authorized each school to award all graduates degrees.
The "Camel Spirit" is the guideline of CUEBers' growth, and also the unique imprint engraved in every CUEBer 's heart. At the moment of graduation, CUEB wrote a special "letter" with warm words, hoping that students will remember the warm time at CUEB and forge ahead with determination!

The ceremony ended with the song "A Letter to CUEB" performed by the undergraduate representatives.
The directors of functional departments, alumni representatives, secretaries, deans, and vice secretaries of all schools, all counselors, graduation class advisers, and all 2023 undergraduates attended the ceremony.
