CUEB Holds the 13th Role Model Awards Ceremony and the May Fourth Commendation Conference

On April 23, the 13th Role Model Awards Ceremony and the May Fourth Commendation Conference were held at the Zhuoyu Auditorium Hall on the university’s main campus. The event recognized outstanding collectives and individuals who excelled in 2025, urging all students to learn from these role models and jointly foster a vibrant and positive campus atmosphere. Attendees included Liu Ying, CUEB Party Secretary; Wu Weixing, Deputy Party Secretary and President of CUEB and other university leaders. They also presented awards to the recognized outstanding collectives and individuals. Ouyang Qin, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB presided over the ceremony.

In her speech, Liu Ying extended congratulations to the recognized collectives and individuals. She emphasized that mutual encounter, mutual recognition, mutual understanding, and mutual learning in education vividly reflect the shared growth of teachers and students. The school always adheres to its original mission of nurturing talents for the Party and the country, fulfills the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and continuously guides young students to strengthen their ideals and beliefs, improve their knowledge and skills, and cultivate noble moral character. All teachers and students should further enhance communication and interaction, foster ideological resonance, and deepen mutual understanding. Through constructive exchanges and mutual learning, they should unite their efforts in education to jointly explore effective pathways for nurturing students and advance the high-quality development of the school’s educational endeavors.
Liu emphasized that university years are profoundly significant. Meanwhile, she put forward several expectations for students. First, she urged students to stay committed to serving the country and embrace the new era with patriotism. Second, she encouraged them to delve deeply into professional studies and shoulder the mission of national rejuvenation with solid capabilities. Third, she emphasized cultivating a well-rounded personality to write a brilliant chapter of youth through steadfast actions. She hoped all students would reach new heights, further advance their endeavors, cultivate lasting value through persistent dedication, and demonstrate responsibility in every small action.
After the screening of conference theme video “Sheng Sheng (Students’ Sound)”, the event has begun. During the award ceremony, the collectives and individuals who received the 2025 President’s Scholarship, National Scholarship, National Encouragement Scholarship, various university-level individual scholarships, and honorary titles took the stage in sequence to receive their honors.

Liu Ying and Wu Weixing presented awards to the recipients of the President’s Scholarship.

Li Xiaomu, Vice President and Yang Kui, Vice President and Member of Party Standing Committee, presented awards to recipients of the National Scholarship and the National Encouragement Scholarship.

Ouyang Qin and Mao Baizhan, Members of Party Standing Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, presented awards to the honored representatives of the Communist Youth League.

Yin Zhichao and Li Kunpeng, Members of Party Standing Committee and Vice Presidents, presented awards to recipients of the special scholarship and honorary titles.
The event showcase consists of six sections: “Cultivating Virtue and Serving the Public”, “Pursuing Knowledge and Seeking Innovation”, “Building Strength and Striving for Self-improvement”, “Cherishing Beauty and Pursuing Steady Growth”, “Practicing Diligence and Staying Grounded”, and “Honoring Dedication and Loving the Nation”.

The Rural Revitalization Practice Team from the School of Labor Economics won the Silver Award at the Capital Volunteer Service Competition and exemplary model title of the “Four 100s” volunteers in the Capital’s “Learning from Lei Feng” initiative. It presented their volunteer services and Party building-led primary-level governance through a situational drama.

Bai Dingchuan, a doctoral student from the School of Economics and recipient of President’s Scholarship; Bai Yu, a master from the School of Artificial Intelligence and recipient of the National Scholarship; and Deng Xinyi, an undergraduate from the School of Public Finance and Taxation and recipient of the President’s Scholarship, shared their experiences regarding their growth in research and academic practice.

Zhang Jingge, a National Second-Class Athlete and undergraduate student at International School of Economics and Management shares his story of striving and pursuing dreams. He has excelled in numerous national and provincial-level track and field high jump competitions.

Wang Dongyu, an undergraduate from the School of Business Administration and multiple gold medalists at the National “Chinese Opera Cup” Student Competition, showcased his profound love for traditional culture and commitment to preserving China’s cultural heritage through a performance of the Peking Opera excerpt “The Heavenly Maiden Scattering Blossoms”.




Bai Jingyi, an undergraduate from the School of Management Engineering and gold medalist of the National College Students’ Career Planning Competition in Beijing, shared her experience of actively participating in internships to gain practical experience and meticulously planning her personal career path.

Representatives of exemplary students from various colleges, together with members of the university’s Student Union and Graduate Student Union, solemnly unveiled the academic ethos initiative titled “Fostering Exemplary Academic Conduct and Upholding Integrity”. The initiative calls on all students to uphold integrity and act with trustworthiness, jointly safeguarding a positive academic environment.
The event was also attended by members of the Standing Committee of School Party Committee, heads of various administrative departments, teaching units, and academic support units, as well as all academic counselors. The activity attracted over 6,000 students both on-site and online.
