To further advance the international development layout of the university and expand overseas access to inter-university cooperation resources, the delegation led by Li Kunpeng, Vice President of CUEB, visited Russia recently. During the visit, the delegation held discussions with Russian University of Transport (RUT), Russian Foreign Trade Academy (RFTA) and St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) on international cooperative education, 2+2 joint training programs for international students, and secured a number of tangible cooperation achievements.

At RUT, both sides introduced each other’s academic strengths, discipline features and current educational status for international students, and held in-depth exchanges on the cultivation plans for the majors of Supply Chain Management and International Economics and Trade. They also clarified detailed rules regarding mutual credit recognition, curriculum alignment and study arrangements in China, and reached consensus on multiple issues, including Chinese language preparatory course, scholarship support for international students and cross-cultural education. Both sides signed an inter-university Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which confirmed the implementation plan for cooperative programs at the meeting. The delegation also held talks with Russian students who are going to study at CUEB in September. Li Kunpeng extended a warm welcome to these students and encouraged them to serve as envoys of China-Russia friendly cooperation.

At RFTA, the delegation toured international classrooms, the language center, international student dormitories and cultural and sports venues, learning about the university’s work covering international students’ living facilities, psychological counseling, safety management and cultural activities. RFTA expressed its willingness to launch a 2+2 joint training program for international students with CUEB, and committed to advancingits implementation this September.

During the discussion at UNECON, both sides explored the possibility of cooperation in disciplines such as Business Administration, E-Commerce and International Economics, and exchanged views on other cooperation models including short-term non-degree programs.

This visit consolidates the ties with our existing Russian partners, further broadens the channelsfor overseas students’ recruitment and program types, opening up new prospects for the university’s recruitment and educationwork of international students studying at CUEB. Going forward, the university will gradually advance the implementation of these outcomes achieved during this visit, and effectively improve the quality of international students’ education. Meanwhile, CUEB will continue to explore multi-level international exchange platforms, innovate international education models, and provide solid support for the implementation of the international education strategy that integrates talent cultivation, research collaboration, and disciplinary development (the so-called “three-in-one” approach).

Relevant representatives from School of Business Administration, School of International Education, and International Cooperation and Exchange Department also joined the visit.
