CUEB Holds Forum for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Students

On the afternoon of December 3, CUEB hosted a forum for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese students in the video conference room on the 2nd floor of Boyuan Building. CUEB Vice President Li Kunpeng, the Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee, attended the event. The forum was presided over by Liu Wenchuan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, Deputy Secretary of the Directly Affiliated Party Branch of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and Dean of the School of International Education.

Li Kunpeng extended warm greetings to the participating students. He inquired in detail about their academic development, adjustment to campus life and future plans, emphasizing that these students are an integral part of the CUEB family and serve as an important bridge connecting the mainland with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas communities. Li noted that CUEB has always attached great importance to the education, support, and services provided to these students. This forum was designed to build a more effective communication platform, listen to their voices and strengthen ties with them. Moving forward, CUEB will continue to focus on their needs in academics, life and employment, providing solid support for their all-round growth. He also put forward several expectations for the students: First, uphold a strong sense of national identity and responsibility, and become active defenders and promoters of national unity and ethnic solidarity; Second, value time, study diligently and pragmatically, master professional knowledge and continuously improve comprehensive competences; Third, actively integrate into campus life, pursue well-rounded development, engage in cultural activities on campus and enhance mutual understanding and deepen friendship with mainland peers.

Feng Boli, a 2023 graduate majoring in Business Administration (International Business) from the School of Business Administration and a recipient of the 2025 Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Scholarship, shared his experiences and insights at the forum.

During the discussion session, students shared their views openly on various topics including coursework, internships and practical training, campus life, career planning, offering valuable opinions and suggestions. Heads from the United Front Affairs Office, Office of Student Affairs, Academic Affairs Office(Education Quality Evaluation Agency), Graduate School, Hong Kong , Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, as well as relevant schools, responded on-site and provided detailed answers to the students’ concerns.

This forum established a more direct and efficient communication channel between CUEB and these students. In the future, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office will continue to cooperate with relevant departments to further improve the efficiency of management and services, enhance students’ sense of belonging and fulfillment, and support their all-round development.

Also present at the meeting were Sun Qingfu, Deputy Director of the United Front Affairs Office of the Party Committee; Gao Qiong, Deputy Director of Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department; Meng Yifang, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office and Director of the Admissions Office; Guan Xin, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School; Wang Meihui, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Economics; and Tan Jing,  Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Accounting.
