CUEB is proud of its strong faculty, which is well-structured, dynamic, innovative and adaptive to the university’s academic development. CUEB currently has 1,471 faculty numbers, of which 813 are full-time teachers. Among the faculty, nearly 67% have Ph.D degrees and 172 are full professors or equivalent, 301associate professors or equivalent, 68 doctoral student advisors, and 418 master student advisors.

Of the current teachers, there is one national outstanding teacher, one national famous teacher, one Thousand Overseas Talents Introduction Program scholars, two supported by the New Century Excellent Talents in the University Program of the Education Ministry, 6 are entitled to the State Council Special Allowance, 18 are Beijing famous teachers and 7 are supported by Beijing Haiju Overseas Talents Introduction Program.

In 2006, the university initiated a teacher career development plan and established the CUEB Office of Teacher Advancement (OTA), one of the few in China. CUEB OTA is a teacher-governed organization dedicated to teacher career planning and advancement, the first of its kind in Beijing, and the “Non-administrative OTA Development Model” project is the winner of the second prize of national teaching achievement.
